4. Membership Tiers and Payments

4.1 Subscription Plans

Access to public and free-tier articles

Member Subscription - $4.99/month

Access to public, free, and member-tier articles

Engineer Subscription - $9.99/month

Full access to all content including engineer-tier articles

4.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"), our third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete payment information
  • Authorize us to charge your payment method for subscription fees
  • Stripe's terms and conditions available at https://stripe.com/legal
  • Maintain valid payment information for recurring subscriptions

4.3 Billing Cycle

Subscriptions are billed on a monthly recurring basis. Your subscription will automatically renew each month until cancelled. You will be charged on the same day each month based on your initial subscription date.

4.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify subscription prices at any time. Price changes will be communicated to you at least 30 days in advance via email. If you do not agree to the price change, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.

4.5 Payment Failure

If your payment method fails or your account is past due:

  • We will attempt to process payment using your payment method on file
  • Your access to premium content may be suspended until payment is received
  • We may send you reminders via email
  • Your account may be downgraded or terminated if payment is not received within a reasonable time

5. Cancellation and Refunds

5.1 Cancellation Policy

  • Managing your subscription through your Stripe customer portal

Upon cancellation:

  • Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period

5.2 Refund Policy

We offer refunds under the following circumstances:

  • Technical Issues: If you experience significant technical problems that prevent you from accessing our Service, and we are unable to resolve them within a reasonable timeframe
  • Duplicate Charges: If you are accidentally charged multiple times for the same subscription period
  • Unauthorized Charges: If charges are made to your account without your authorization (subject to verification)

Refunds are generally not provided for:

  • Change of mind or dissatisfaction with content
  • Failure to cancel before renewal
  • Partial months of service
  • Account termination due to Terms violation

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES, LOSSES, AND CAUSES OF ACTION EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
